I can at least console myself with experience I've gained reading every note, book, and document in the game. Typically, when I have a huge problem, I turn to the forums for a strategy tip. About 50% of the time this works in my favor but typically only because I'm abusing minor problems with the AI. My biggest offense so far has been getting into a hard fight then reloading and casting AOE spells through walls.

I'm still suffering from the lack of widely available poultices and components for said poultices. I left that off my list but in hindsight it probably deserved a mention.

Excellent post. I can definitely relate to the ridiculously erratic difficulty changes. Some of those truly caused a fair amount of frustration. As for the complaint about chests, I believe the answer lies in offering rogue's some epic utility that can't be matched by warriors. In addition, it isn't the useless loot you're missing out on... it's the constant influx of experience from opening each and every locked item. Probably a whole 2 or 3 levels during the course of my game came from opening chests.

This book was really well written, but i have to say it lost me on a few points. The writing needed to be a BIT more cohesive. and it dragged on in a few places (like Lovecraft himself)

But overall I really loved it. Sarah (the main character) is believable and sympathetic and a well rounded and interesting character. and Amanda (sarah's ex) always stayed a bit out of understanding (which was amazing, and so right). And i was getting constance (the neighbor) until the end which is where I got lost. What happened to her?

In short a great Lovecraft homage while still keeping the mythos fresh. and a really deep intense read and worth it, if your looking for something heavy and depressing.
